Who are the Obut TON’R steel carbon petanque balls intended for?

This pétanque ball is recommended for all players who appreciate soft balls. It is the ideal triplet for shooters. Moreover, with the price of the set, this investment represents a good compromise for them.

 

Why choose this triplet of balls?

Upon impact, the Obut TON’R ball shows a normal marking. Its balance is excellent, which makes it particularly effective on a difficult terrain.

Like many other pétanque balls from the Obut brand, this one is engravable. Adding an engraving, such as initials or a nickname, will help you avoid mixing up your triplets with another player's.

The Obut TON’R triplets are approved by the FFPJP. They are available in smooth or grooved versions. When shopping on Pétanque Web, you will also receive an additional approved wooden jack, with a diameter of 30 mm and the Obut label. As for the microfiber cloth that comes with the package, it is free.

 

How to maintain the competition ball?

Carbon steel is prone to oxidation. It requires more maintenance than a stainless steel pétanque ball. To prevent rust from forming, certain habits should be adopted. Clean your triplet with a chamois after each use. This will remove the dust from your Obut TON’R. Then, using a damp sponge and Marseille soap, wash the ball. Once it is completely dry, proceed with oiling it with gun oil or greasing it with petroleum jelly. Maintenance sprays are also suitable.
