The Obut RCC boule was developed for pétanque players looking to enhance their individual performance. With impressive efficiency both in full-iron shooting (tire plein fer) and deadweight pointing (point plombé), it’s a truly versatile boule. While it's suitable for all player levels, the RCC is especially appreciated by shooters (tireurs) thanks to its superior balance and anti-rebound capabilities.
RCC stands for “Rebond Contrôlé Carbone” (Controlled Rebound Carbon). This latest-generation, high-end triplette from Obut features a newly developed carbon alloy that gives the boules low-rebound properties and excellent damping.
On top of that, Obut has integrated advanced technology into the manufacturing process, making the Obut RCC amorti + exceptionally durable.
Designed for intensive play, this model boasts a soft shot peening finish (“grenaillage doux”) that enhances grip without being rough to the touch. The boule is perfectly balanced, delivering top-level performance even on difficult terrain.
Color: Satin black
Material: Carbon alloy steel
Hardness: Amorti + (plays like a very soft boule but retains the durability of a semi-soft)
Diameter: 72 mm to 76 mm
Weight: 680 g to 710 g
Warranty: 3 years
Certification: Approved by the FFPJP (French Federation of Pétanque and Provençal Game)
Included with your triplette:
1 colored cochonnet
1 cleaning cloth (chamoisine)
Note: The Obut RCC amorti + might feel unique at first, but just a few throws are enough to adapt and appreciate its outstanding performance.
Carbon steel boules are prone to oxidation (rust). While some players actually enjoy the “patina” effect, many prefer to keep their boules rust-free. For that, regular maintenance is essential.
Wipe down the boules with your chamoisine.
Wash with a soapy sponge.
Rinse and dry thoroughly.
Apply a light layer of oil or petroleum jelly to prevent rust.
